Text Box: Have you ever found something you weren’t looking for?

Has there ever been a moment when you knew that if you did not act it would become the greatest regret of your life?

Has your child ever done something that made you overwhelmingly proud to be a parent?

That’s what happened to us when we traveled to Ukraine on a missions trip to host summer programs at orphans’ camps.

We met a boy with legs left disfigured from scars that didn’t heal properly due to lack of medical care.
We played with children who live in different orphanages than their brothers and sisters.
We sang songs with children who had been abused, abandoned, or taken from their parents for many reasons, most commonly because of alcoholism.
We laughed with children whose parents are actively fighting to restore their lives and gain custody of their children.
We consoled a 12 year old named Lyra, whose only want in the world is a family that won’t hit her.

We laughed, played, sang, hugged, prayed, and fell in love with a girl named Rimma. Rimma came to the orphanage after she and her brother, Yuri, were taken from their mother at 6 years old due to alcoholism. About a year later, Yuri was moved to a different location and they haven’t seen each other since then. For over 7 years they have been parentless and completely alone.

Her smile and the way that she helped all of the children around her is what made us notice her the first day. Later she tried to teach us Russian (we were a lost cause), made necklaces with us, and even helped us teach the other children by studying what we did and repeating it. She even managed to communicate to my husband that he should not eat candy because he already has too many fillings! HA!

We knew that she was the missing piece of our family and thus started a huge leap of faith when my husband and I decided to adopt her and her brother…. TWO 14 YEAR OLDS!

Now we need your help to bring our children home!!!

Our adoption is approved and we have received our invitation to travel in August to complete our adoption. But we need your help to raise the money to make it happen!

After we began our adoption process, our 11 year old daughter tried to think of what it must be like for her future brother and sister. After all, they won’t know that they are being adopted until we walk into the room and tell them! With this as her inspiration, she wrote a beautiful poem about adoption entitled, “Am I Loved?”

We are amazed at her love for the brother and sister that she has yet to meet, and we couldn’t be prouder!

We invite you to be part of something life changing!

We need people like you to take action and financially partner with us. If you make a donation of $25 or more, as a thank you for your donation, we will send you a copy of Miranda’s adoption poem.

Kids aren’t cheap – and adoption certainly isn’t either. The next step in our adoption will cost over $20,000. Our total adoption expenses will end up at $25-30,000. We’ve done fundraising, had garage sales, emptied our savings, worked on the side, been an election judge, and even sold my hair!!

Your generous gift will help us raise the money needed to give Rimma & Yuri a forever family!

To partner with us financially, click on “PayPal” below and you’ll be able to donate to help us adopt these kids! As a thank you for donating, we will send you a copy of Miranda’s heartfelt poem within one week of receiving your contribution.
